JCBSN Website
Privacy Policy
Last updated · June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how JCBSN (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use this website, including the Scroll the Bible web experience at thejcbsnbrand.com/scroll-the-bible (collectively, the “Site”). It covers our website only. Our iOS apps have their own privacy policies linked from their App Store listings.
1. Information We Collect
- Email address. When you join our list or unlock a free study, we collect the email you provide so we can send updates and, for subscribers, account and receipt messages.
- Subscription and account data. If you subscribe, we store your subscription status and related identifiers (for example, a Stripe customer or subscription ID and a linked account record) so we can unlock paid features.
- Verse study requests. When you request an AI study, we process the Bible reference and the public-domain King James Version text of that verse.
- Usage and device data. Standard technical data that servers and analytics receive (for example, IP address, browser type, and pages viewed). We store only a hashed form of your IP address for abuse prevention and usage metering.
2. Payments (Stripe)
Payments are processed by Stripe using Stripe’s hosted checkout. We never see or store your full card number; card details are handled directly by Stripe, which is a PCI-compliant payment processor. Stripe’s handling of your information is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
3. Email Service (Resend)
We use Resend to manage our email list and to send transactional and marketing emails. Your email address is shared with Resend for this purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
4. AI Verse Studies (OpenAI)
AI studies are generated on our servers by sending a request to OpenAI’s API. The request contains the verse reference and the public-domain KJV text of the verse, not your name, email, or account details. OpenAI processes that content to return the study and is governed by OpenAI’s policies. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is informational only.
5. Analytics and Advertising (Meta Pixel)
The Scroll the Bible web pages use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure the performance of our ads and to understand how visitors use the Site. The pixel sets cookies and may share events (such as page views, lead sign-ups, and purchases) with Meta, which may use them for advertising measurement and optimization. For confirmed purchases, we may also send a server-side event to Meta with a hashed email for deduplicated measurement. Meta’s use of this information is governed by Meta’s Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization in your Meta account and through your browser’s cookie controls.
6. Accounts and Authentication (Supabase)
We use Supabase to store subscription state and, where applicable, to create an account tied to your email so the same login can unlock our app on other platforms. Subscription status is set only by our servers in response to verified payment events; it cannot be changed by the browser.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Functional cookies remember the email you provided and whether a free study has been used, so the experience works as intended.
- Analytics/advertising cookies are set by the Meta pixel as described above.
Depending on where you live, you may be shown a consent choice for non-essential cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without functional cookies.
8. How We Use Information
- To provide the Site and generate the studies you request
- To process subscriptions and send related messages
- To send updates you opted into, and to measure our advertising
- To prevent abuse, meter free usage, and keep the Site secure
9. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers described above (Stripe, Resend, OpenAI, Meta, Supabase, and our hosting provider) to operate the Site, or where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
10. Your Rights and Choices
- Email: Unsubscribe from marketing at any time via the link in our emails.
- Subscription: Manage or cancel from the billing portal linked in the app, or by contacting us.
- Access/deletion: Depending on your location, you may request access to or deletion of your personal information by contacting us below.
11. Data Retention and Security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Site and for legitimate business or legal purposes. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
12. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes may be communicated through the Site.
